Intermission

If you’ve ever watched a Hindi film you would know that somewhere in the middle of it, there is a break. An intermission, that is. A few minutes that allow you to stretch your legs, go get some chai and samosas, have a chat with your mates or maybe pay a quick visit the loo. And after intermission, when the lights are dimmed and the film starts again, kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Anything can happen.
In my life also, a sort of intermission happened. This is where I am right now. On a break.
Actually, I sort of broke up with myself. (Or maybe I should say ‘made up’..?)
Not all those who wander are lost is a line from the poem All That Is Gold Does Not Glitter, written by JRR Tolkien. This poem appears in The Lord of the Rings’ first book, The Fellowship of the Ring:
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is a dear favourite of mine, as is the ever present play between appearance/illusion/maya and reality/Truth, which also is the theme of this poem.

Love and shanti,

Fuelled by masala chai I'm breathing through the bittersweet lessons and challenges of Shiva's tough love, slowly discovering the art of becoming empty. I am coming undone, finding myself once again... and it is t/here, waiting with arms wide open. Shanti
